قَدْ تأملتُ مَا بَعَثْتَ بِهِ لا

زلتَ تُهْدى لمن يواليكَ بِرّا

I have contemplated what you have sent

You continue to guide those loyal to you with righteousness

فرأيتُ الجمالَ كُمِّلَ والإِج

مَالَ فاستجمعا وسمى شعرَا

I saw beauty made complete and glory

Unite and be called poetry

وتنزهت فِي رياض بديع

من صنيع البيان أطْلَعْنَ زهرا

And you walked in gardens of eloquence

From the craft of rhetoric blooming flowers

يَا أميراً حَتَّى عَلَى النظم والنث

ر لقد زدت فِي الإمارة قدرا

O prince even over verse and prose

You have indeed increased in rank and esteem
