1. مصر أُمُّ الدنيا كما لقبوها

    ليس في الامن مثلها من مكان

    Egypt, mother of the world as they called her

    There is no place like her in security

  2. اي قطرٍ كقطر مصرَ صفاءُ ال

    عيش والرغدُ فيه مضمونانِ

    What country is like Egypt in purity

    Living and prosperity are guaranteed

  3. كل من فيها في نعيمٍ مقيمٍ

    وهناءٍ موطّد الاركانِ

    All who live there live in lasting bliss

    And solid happiness

  4. كل من فيها طيب النفس مستذ

    رٍ بحصني حرية وأمانِ

    All who live there have a pure soul

    Protected by the fortresses of freedom and safety

  5. يتفيا ما شاءَ دوح سلامٍ

    وارفَ الظلّ باسقَ الاغصانِ

    Enjoys whatever he wants in a peaceful atmosphere

    And a shaded, leafy shade

  6. انها مربعُ الرخاءِ وجلى ال

    بشرِ والأنس مغنى الاطمئنانش

    It is the square of prosperity, the image of

    Good tidings, and the joy of reassurance

  7. ومُراحُ المعيي المعنَّى ومنجا

    ةُ المضيم المروَّع اللهفانِ

    And the respite of the tired, the frustrated

    The anxious, the fearful and the longing

  8. وهي ليست حديثة العهد في إح

    راز هذا الفضل العظيم الشانِ

    It is not new in achieving

    This great and noble merit

  9. من قديم الزمان جلّت وحازت

    قصب السبق في قرى الضيفانِ

    Since ancient times it has excelled

    And took the lead among the homes of hospitality

  10. أُذكروا ابراهيم لما أَتاها

    جالياً عن حماهُ في كنعانش

    Remember Abraham when he came to it

    Seeking refuge from his kin in Canaan

  11. فأجارته ثم أولته إِكرا

    ماً جديراً باكرم الضيفانش

    It gave him sanctuary, then honored him

    With generosity worthy of the most noble guest

  12. وتلاهُ أعقابهُ ثوم موسى

    اذ لهم طابَ المكثُ في جاسان

    His offspring followed him then Moses

    As their stay in Egypt was pleasant

  13. وأصابوا من ساكني مصر أُنساً

    نافياً عنهم وحشة الهجرانِ

    And they found from the inhabitants of Egypt intimacy

    Dispelling their estrangement

  14. ثم عادوا منها وظلوا اليها

    في أشدّ النزوع والتوقانِ

    Then they returned from it, and remained

    Eager and longing for it
