إليكِ غَلبُّلي من مصرَ تطوى

تحيتنا فتحكي المسك نشرا

To you my poem from Egypt folds

Our greetings so you tell of musk scattered

وإن ضاعت فلا عجبٌ لأنا

ليومك حافظونَ أجلَّ ذكرى

And if it's lost no wonder for we

For your day preservers of the greatest memory

ففيهِ الباس خط على روابي

بطاحكِ بالدم المهراق سطرا

For in it Al-Bas penned on the hillsides

With your blood the spilled crimson lined

تلاهُ الخافقات وسوف تبقى

لهُ الدنيا مدى الايام تقرا

Followed by the fluttering, and it will remain

For it the world lifelong will chant

وأياً كان قارئهُ نراه

بترديد السلام عليك مُغرى

And whoever reads it we see him

Repeating greetings to you inclined

يعظم من غزاةِ حماكش شأناً

ويرفعُ من حُماةِ حماكِ قدرا

Esteeming the invaders of Hamakash highly

And raising the protectors of your Hamak dignity

وشَتكِ يد الربيع فلحتِ روضاً

وكان لروضك الجيشانِ زهرا

Your hand spread spring so you bloomed a garden

And for your garden the two armies were flowers

وكنتِ لجرأَة الجيشين مجلى

وكُنتِ لنخبةِ الجيشين قبرا

And you were to the two armies' audacity a refuge

And you were for the elite of the two armies a grave

فذاك مهاجماً جلى اقتحاماً

وفاقَ بسالةً وامتاز كرَّا

One attacked openly with valiant assault

Excelled in courage and was distinguished indeed

اتى أبطالُ أنزكَ ما أطمّ ال

وَرىَ روعاً وغشى الارض بهرا

The heroes of Anzac came, how crowded

Saw terror and covered the land blinded

فحقُّ نيوزلندا وأُستراليا

بهم أن تشمخا عظماً وكبرا

So it's New Zealand and Australia's right

To stand tall and supreme in greatness

وهذا في الدفاع أرى ثباتاً

أفاد الصخرَ كيف يكون صخرا

And this in defense I see steadfastness

Taught the rock how to be sturdy rock

وعنكِ بطعنةٍ نجلاءَ بكرٍ

تلقَّى طعنةً نجلاءَ بكرا

About you with a gallant young virgin's stab

Received a stab, a gallant young virgin

حماكِ كما أردتِ فعظميه

وَوَفِي حقهُ مدحاً وشكرا

Hamak as you wished so magnify it

And fulfill its due in praise and thanks
