شَهِدنا بِعَونِ اللَهِ أَفضَلَ مَشهَدٍ

بِأَكرَمِ مَن يَقوى عَلى كُلِّ مَوكِبِ

With God's help we witnessed the best scene

With the most generous of those able to lead every procession

رَكِبنا عَلى الجُردِ الجِيادِ سَوابِحاً

بِكُلِّ قَناةٍ بَل بِكُلِّ مُقَضَّبِ

We rode the steeds galloping

Through every spearhead and even every lance tip

وَكُنا بِعَونِ اللَهِ لا نَرعَوي إِذا

تَبادَرَ طَعنٌ كَالخَمامِ المُثَلَّبِ

With God's help we did not shy away when

A piercing stab, like an adorned tent peg, was exchanged

وَكانَ جِهادٌ قَد مَلَكنا بِأَمرِهِ

مِنَ المُلكِ مُستَعلي البِناءِ المُذَهَّبِ

And it was a jihad that had commanded us

With sovereignty, elevating the ornate building

تَرانا وَإِنّا في الحُروبِ أُسودُها

لَنا العَزمُ لا يَخفى بِكُلِّ مُجَرِّبِ

You see us as the fiercest during wars

We have resolve that does not fade with every veteran

نَجولُ وَنَحمي وَالرِماحُ شَوارِعٌ

وَنَطعَنُ يَومَ الحَربِ كُلَّ مُجَنَّبِ

We patrol and protect while spears are thoroughfares

And on the day of war we charge every armored one

قَدِمنا عَلى كِسرى بِشِدَّةِ حَربِنا

وَما حَربُنا في النائِباتِ بِمُختَبي

We advanced on Chosroes with the intensity of our war

And our war does not cower during tribulations
