We brought the horses from pleasant valleys
To Ctesiphon, where valiant men awaited
Leaving behind their homes with longing
And days of separation, long and trying
A caller in Fars bid us depart
Crying each time the crescent moon was sighted
We killed Rustam and his sons by force
Our horses kicking up the sand, excited
Bērzān fled, unprotected, full of dread
His troops routed, destiny decided
Where we met them, we left only some
Not keen to quickly pack up and be moving
The Hormuzans escaped to save their souls
Our swift steeds galloping, swiftly proving
