إِنَّ الخَليطَ أَجَدَّ مُنتَقَلُه

وَلِذاكَ زُمَّت غُدوَةً إِبِلُه

The mixed-breed endured his transferal

Thus were his camels tied up at dawn

عَهدي بِهِم في العَقبِ قَد سَنَدوا

تَهدي صَعابُ مَطِيِّهِم ذُلُلُه

My pact with them at the rear they upheld

The rough terrain smoothed by their striding sprawl
