إذا تخازرت وما بي من خزر

ثم كسرت العين من غير عور

أحمل ما حملت من خير وشر

I'll find the path though far it be,

Bearing my load of good and misery,

ذا نهجة في المصمئلات الكبر

أبذي اذاً بوذيت من كلب ذكر

My steps will echo grandly.

Then should a hound harass me, I'll hamstring him,

أعقر بوال يغذي في الشجر

كالحية النضناض في أصل الحجر

Laming a horse that grazes on a tree,

Like the small serpent in a boulder's hold.
