يعيرني قومي المجاهل والخنا

عليهم وقالوا أنت غير حليم

My ignorant people reproach and slander me,

هل الجهل فيكم أن أعاقب بعدما

تجوز سبي واستحل حريمي

اذا أنا لم أمنع عجوزي منكم

فكانت كأخرى في النساء عقيم

وقد علمت أفناء مرة أننا

اذا ما اجتدانا الشر كل صميمِ

And I have realized time and again that when

Evil confronts us, every bosom friend falls short.

حماة لا حساب العشيرة كلها

اذا ذم يوم الروع كل مليمِ

All the tribe are protectors without accountability

When the terror of the day visits every slanderer.

فقلت لها يا أم بيضاء انه

هريق شبابي واستشن أديمي
