وَإِذا العَذارى بِالدُخانِ تَقَنَّعَت

وَإِذا العَذارى بِالدُخانِ تَقَنَّعَت

وَاِستَعجَلَت نَصبَ القُدورِ فَمَلَّتِ

وَاِستَعجَلَت نَصبَ القُدورِ فَمَلَّتِ

And when the maidens veiled themselves in smoke,

and hurried to set up the cooking-pots, till they wearied,

دَرَّت بِأَرزاقِ العِيالِ مَغالِقٌ

دَرَّت بِأَرزاقِ العِيالِ مَغالِقٌ

بِيَدَيَّ مِن قَمَعِ العِشارِ الجِلَّةِ

بِيَدَيَّ مِن قَمَعِ العِشارِ الجِلَّةِ

the gambling-arrows in my hands poured forth provisions for the household—

from the humps of the great ten-month-pregnant she-camels.
