فآنَسَت بَعدَما مالَ الرُقادُ بِنا
بِذي سَلامانِ ضَوءاً مِن سَنا نارِ
After sleep had turned us away,
I glimpsed a light from the lamp of Solomon
كَلامِح البَرقِ أَحياناً تُطَفّقهُ
ريحٌ خَريقٌ دَبورٌ بَينَ أَستارِ
Like flashes of lightning that would sometimes shine
A piercing wind amidst the veils
