ألا أيها المقصودُ في كل حاجةٍ

شكوت إليك الضر فارحم شكايتي

O you who are sought in every need

I complained to you of harm, so have mercy on my complaint

ألا يا رجائي أنت تكشفُ كربتي

فهب لي ذنوب يكلها وافضِ حاجتي

O my hope, you relieve my distress

So grant me forgiveness of all my sins and fulfill my need

أتيت بأعمال قباح رديئةٍ

وما في الورى عبد جنى كجنايتي

I have committed ugly, despicable deeds

And there is no slave in existence who has sinned like my sinning

أتحرقُني بالنار يا غايةَ المُنى

فأين رجائي ثم اين مخافتي

Will you burn me in the fire, O epitome of hopes?

So where is my hope and then where is my fear?
