1. قف بذات الاراك واندب طلولا

    قفرت عَن نوار دهرا طَويلا

    Stand in the same place and mourn for a long time

    It has been devoid of light for a long period

  2. وَرسوما بالابلق الفرد أَضحَت

    لمها الرمل مسمراوَمقيلا

    And traces in the soft sand have become

    Fixed for it by the sands and anchored

  3. واسقها من عَريض دمع غَزير

    دائم السكب لا يغب مسيلا

    And water it with a torrent of flowing tears

    Constantly pouring that has no drying spring

  4. فَلَعَل الدموع تطفىء نارا

    من فؤاد صبا وَتشفي غَليلا

    Perhaps the tears will extinguish a fire

    From the passion of youth and relieve anguish

  5. ان بين الاراك فالبان فالريان

    للظاعنين رسما محيلا

    Between the sands, the open country, and the meadows

    There is for the wanderers a fixed trace

  6. انكرت ربعه الرياح جنوبا

    وَشمالا شامية وَقبولا

    The winds have denied its pastureland in the south

    And north, and the Levant and east

  7. وأَحالت منه المَعالم فالآ

    ثار فالربع فالكثيب المهيلا

    And the landmarks and traces and dunes have disappeared

    And the pastureland, so the place has become desolate

  8. يا خَليلي عَساكَ تعذر ذا الوج

    د كما يعذر الخَليل الخَليلا

    O my friend, may you excuse this face

    As the sincere excuses his sincere friend

  9. لا تسلني عَن العوير وأَهلي

    ه وَسلهم هَل خلفوني قَتيلا

    Do not ask me of El-Uwair and its people

    And greet them - have they left me dead?

  10. فالغَريق الَّذين حلوا بنجد

    ما يَزالون في الفؤاد حلولا

    Those who have settled in Nejd

    Still stir feelings in my heart

  11. ما عَلى الناس من بقية روح

    أسكنته الهموم جسما نَحيلا

    The remnants of spirit

    Sorrow has made reside in a thin body

  12. وَفؤاد يَرضى بهاهجر المحبين

    وَيَستَعذب العذاب الوَبيلا

    And a heart that is content with the estrangement of lovers

    And finds anguish sweet

  13. إِن دَعج العيون من غير عيب

    آلفته الضنا قَليلا قَليلا

    If the eyes have become worn without defect

    Grief has accustomed it to little, and to less

  14. أَيُّها الراكب المجدار تحل من

    شجر واقطع الفَيافي زَميلا

    O rider crossing the desert, stop at

    A tree and cut through the long desert

  15. واطو أَرض الجنوب غورا وَنَجدا

    فرسخا فرسخا وَميلا فميلا

    And cross the land of the south and Nejd

    Farsakh by farsakh, and mile by mile

  16. لا تمل بالمطىّ عَن ذروة

    العز بعز المنيع تنعم مقيلا

    Do not weary of the journey

    Towards the glory of invincible might, resting at ease

  17. في رياض شرفن بالاشرف الغر

    د الَّذي حاز الارض عرضا وَطولا

    In meadows ennobled by the noblest

    Who has gained breadth and length of land

  18. تبعى أَتى به اللَه للا

    سلام وَالمسلمين ظلا ظَليلا

    Tabee has come to bring Islam

    And the Muslims shade and shelter

  19. واسأل الحي عن محب صحبنا

    قَديما وَكان برّا وَصولا

    Ask the Living about a beloved companion of ours

    Who was righteous and loyal

  20. حيّ عبد الرَحمن أَعنى وَجيه الدين

    الدين سيف الهدى الجراز الصَقيلا

    The Living Abd Al-Rahman - and I mean the most eminent

    The religion's sword - polished blade

  21. اكرم الخق من بَني اكرم الحلق

    فروعا منيفة وأصولا

    Honor the sincere from a people honorable of ancestry

    Offshoots commendable and origins true

  22. الامام الَّذي يدل عَلى الحق

    بآثاره وَيهدى السَبيلا

    The Imam who shows the truth in his traces

    And guides to the path

  23. وَالجواد الجواد والامجد الامجد

    وَالسيد النَبيل النَبيلا

    The generous, the glorious, the noble lineage

    The noble chief, unmatched if you seek a peer

  24. الفَتى الماهِر المهذب فردا

    في بَني الدهر ان طلبت مَثيلا

    Take from his guidance knowledge and forbearance

    And seek from him to meet and reach

  25. فاِقتبس من هداه علما وَحِلما

    واِستله تلقى فزانا وَتيلا

    And hope for his generosity to suffice you

    Below the abundant, most generous and lofty

  26. وَتيممه سائِلا تغن جودا

    دونك الزاخر العَريض الطَويلا

    You who come from the land of Nejd

    Have you found my heart changeable towards them?

  27. أَيُّها القادِمون مِن أَرض نجد

    هَل وَجدتم لهم قَلبي مزيلا

    For people I loved have abandoned me

    After union, so my heart has become sick

  28. ان قَوما أَحبهم هَجَروني

    بعد وصل فصار قَلبي عَليلا

    O my beloved, if the nights aided me

    In meeting I would have come hastily

  29. يا حَبيبي لَو ساعدتَني اللَيالي

    بالتَلاقي لجئتسعيا عجولا

    My aim being to renew the pact but

    I could not find rest from the adversity of fate

  30. غَرَضي أَن أُجَدد العهد لكن

    لَم أَجد من عثار دَهري مقيلا

    If you have turned from love of me then my heart

    Cannot turn from love of you

  31. ان تكن حلت عَن وِدادي فَقَلبي

    لا يَرى عَن ودادكم أن يحولا

    Or you have forgotten me - but I do not forget

    Or tired of passion - I do not tire

  32. أَو تناسيتني فلست بناس

    أو مللت الهوى فلست مَلولا

    Long has the south wind carried

    To you abundant greetings

  33. طالَما هبت الجنوب فأهدي

    ت اليكم معها السلام الجَزيلا

    Yearning has inclined me toward you and

    I cannot bear that which before contented me

  34. شفني الشوق نحوكم واِستَحالَت

    أنعم مارضيت أَن تَستَحيلا

    How, my master, have you come near

    To my land and could not reach?

  35. كَيف يا سَيدي بلغت قَريبا

    من بلادي وَما اِستَطعت وصولا

    Do not rebuke me with estrangement for Allah

    Says high above, be patient beautifully

  36. لا تعنف عليّ بالهجر فاللَه

    تَعالى يَقول صبرا جَميلا

    I have two years in which I hoped

    To voice my passions, but found no messenger

  37. لي حولان أَرتَجي بث أشوا

    قي اليكم فَما وجدت رَسولا

    And my reproach is much, but I shortened it

    Fearing that if I detail it, it will prolong

  38. واختصرت العتاب وَهو كَثير

    خشية أن شرحته أَن يطولا

    And I have been gentle in my question, my hope being

    That you see evidence in the answer

  39. وَتلطفت في السؤال رَجائي

    أَن ترى للجواب فيه دَليلا

    By the right of Him who guided you, give

    A healing speech, weighty words

  40. فبحق الَّذي هَداك رأعطا

    ك هدى شافيا وَقَولا ثَقيلا

    Remember Al-Sharifi with good whenever

    You pray, O Merciful and Guardian

  41. اذكر الشارفىّ بالخير مهما

    قمت تدعو البر الرَحيم الوَكيلا

    And upon you be my greetings until

    Time ends, morn and eve

  42. وَعَلَيكم مني السَلام إِلى أَن

    ينفد الدهر بكرة وأَصيلا
