قِف بالخضوع وَنادربك يا هو

إِنَّ الكَريم يجيب من ناداه

Stand in awe and call upon Him, O you

Surely the Generous answers the one who calls upon Him

واطلب بطاعته رضاه فَلَم يزل

بالجود يَرضى طالبين رضاه

And seek His pleasure through obedience, for He has never ceased

To be pleased through generosity with those seeking His pleasure

واسأله مسألة وَفضلاته

مبسوطتان لسائليه يَداه

And ask Him, as His bounties

Are outstretched to those asking of Him, His hands

واقصد منقطعا اليه فكل من

يَرجوه منقطعا اليه كفاه

And devote yourself to Him alone, for everyone

Who hopes in Him alone, He suffices

شملت لطائفه الخَلائق كلها

ما لِلخَلائق كافل الا هو

His kindnesses encompassed all creatures

None suffices for creatures but He

فعَزيزها وَذَليلها وَغنيها

وَفَقيرها لا يَرتَجون سواه

So the mighty and humble, the rich and poor

Hope for none but Him

ملك تدين له المُلوك وَيلتجى

يَومَ القيامة فقرهم بِغناه

A King to whom kings submit, and on

The Day of Judgement, their poverty seeks His riches

هُوَ أوّل هُوَ آخر هو ظاهر

هُوَ باطِن لَيسَ العيون تَراه

He is the First, He is the Last, He is the Manifest

He is the Hidden, eyes cannot see Him

حجبته أَسرار الجَلال فَدونه

تَقِف الظنون وَتخرس الافواه

The mysteries of Majesty veiled Him, so notions

Stand still before Him, and mouths fall silent

صمد بِلا كفء وَلا كَيفية

أَبدا فَما النظراء والاشباه

The Eternal, without peer or likeness

Partners and comparisons exist not, forever

شهدت غَرائب صنعه بوجوده

لَولاه ما شهدت به لَولاه

I witnessed the wonders of His creation in His existence

Had it not been for Him, I would not have witnessed them but for Him

واليه أذعنت العُقول فآمنت

با لغيب تؤثر حبها اياه

And to Him reason submitted, thus believing

In the unseen, preferring love of Him

سُبحان من عنت الوجوه لوجهه

وَله سجود أَوجه وَحباه

Glory to Him before whom faces bowed

To Him prostrated faces and He created them

طوعا وَكرها خاضعين لعزه

فَله عليها الطوع والاكراه

Willingly and unwillingly submitting to His might

So to Him belong willingness and coercion

سل عنه ذرات الوجود فانها

تدعوه معبودا لها رباه

Ask the particles of existence, for they

Call upon Him as their worshipped Lord who fostered them

ما كانَ يعبد من الدغيره

وَالكل تحت القهر وَهواله

None was worshipped but Him

And all are under coercion while He is God

أَبدى بمعكم صنعه من نطفة

بشرا شويابجل من سواه

He manifested to you through your being, from a drop

Human, while none compares to Him

وَبَني السَموات العَلي وَالعَرش

وَالكرسيّ ثم عَلى الجَميع علاه

And He built the highest heavens and the Throne

And the Footstool, then above all reigned supreme

وَدحا يبسط الأَرض فَرشا مثبتا

بالراسيات وَبالنبات حلاه

And rolled out the earth, spread as a carpet

Secured with mountains, and adorned it with plants

تَجري الرياح عَلى اختلاف هبوبها

عَن اذنه وَالفلك والامواه

The winds blow according to His command

And the planets and waters flow

رب رَحيم مشفق متعطف

لا يَنتَهي بالحصر ما أَعطاه

A Lord merciful, compassionate, gentle

His bounties cannot be limited, however numbered

كَم نعمة أَولى وَكَم من كربة

أَحلى وَكَم من مُبتَلى عافاه

How many blessings He first gave

How many sorrows He made sweet, how many afflicted He cured

فاذا بليت بغربة أَو كربة

فادع الاله وَقل سَريعا ياهو

So if you are tested with exile or anguish

Then call upon God, and quickly say: O He

لا محسن لظن الجَميل به يَرى

يوأ وَلا راجيه خاب رجاه

No one hoping for His favor has seen evil

Or anyone seeking Him has had his hopes dashed

وَلحلمه سبحانه يَعصى فَلَم

يمحل عَلى عبد عصى مَولاه

And for His forbearance - Glory to Him - when disobeyed

He does not hasten punishment on a disobedient servant

يأتيه معتذرا فيقبل عذره

كَرَما وَيَغفر عمده وَخطاه

Who comes to Him repenting, so He accepts his excuse

With generosity, forgiving his sins intended and unintended

ياذا الجَلال وَذا الجَمال وَذا الكَرم

يا منعما عم الانام نداه

O You of Majesty, Grace and Generosity

O He whose favors are universal, whose help is sought

يا من هوالمعروف بالمَعروف يا

غوثاه يا رباه يا مولاه

O You known for good, O Succorer, O Lord, O Master

I have a companion who complains of debts - relieve them

لي صاحب يَشكو الديون فقضها

عنه وِبلغه الَّذي يَهواه

And grant him that which he desires

And accept our pleading through Muhammad's merit

واقبل توسلنا بفضل محمد

وَبِمَن له وجه لديك وجاه

And through him in your sight of status and rank

And strengthen Your servant Abdur-Rahim with mercy

واشدد عرا عبَدالرَحيم برحمة

ان الحَوادِث قَد قصمن عراه

For tribulations have broken his backbone

And grant him from his life every honor

وأنله من دنياه كل كرامة

وَقمه الَّذي يَخشاه في أخراه

And save him from that which he fears for his end

And let him taste the coolness of Your pleasure with him

وأذقه برد رضاك عنه فَلَم يخب

من كان عينك بالرضا تَرعاه

For one who has Your favor cannot lose

And with Your power, foil his enemies, and be for him

واقمع بحولك حاسديه وكن له

حرما من المَكروه واحم حماه

A sanctuary from harm, and guard his sanctuary

And forgive the sins of his ancestors and descendants

واغفر ذنوب اصوله وَفروعه

وَصحابه وَجَميع من آخاه

And companions, and all who were dear to him

When the paths of my goals narrow

مالي إِذا ضاقَت وجوه مذاهبي

أَحد الوذبر كنه الاهو

There is none but Him to call

Then prayers upon the Prophet especially from him

ثم الصَلاة عَلى النَبي تخصه

وَتعم بالخَيرات من والاه

And good spreads to those who followed him

He who sang beautifully in refined odes

ما صاح في عذب العَذيب مغرد

أَولاح برق الابرقين سناه

Or drew the two flashing swords
