دمى طلل بين الطلول بحا جر
فَلا تعجَبوا من عبرة بمحاجري
Tears of longing flowed between the hills, so wonder not at my weeping,
Leave my heart to pine away in their absence,
وَخلوا فؤادي يستبيد فراقهم
غراما يَرى ما بين ناس وَذاكر
Loving what it sees of people and places,
Memories of encampments in the valley never cease
فذكرى حييمات الاباطح لم تزل
تهيج لِقَلبي وَجد مَجنون عامر
To stir my heart and awaken raging passion anew,
For love is but anguish and yearning
وَما الحب الا لوعة وَصَبابة
تذيب وَمهجور يحن لهاجر
That melts me while the one I love remains indifferent,
And passion makes the youth its slave, disrobing him of modesty.
وخل الهَوى العذرى ينم به الفَتى
بخلع عذار الحب من غير عاذر
Perhaps a breeze from Najd's hills will blow my way
With scent of chamomile and rain-laden clouds,
عَسى نسمة من سفح نجد تهب لي
بريح الخزامى وَاليشام النواضر
Reviving my downcast soul - mayhap it will dispel
My sorrow, stirring emotions long buried.
وَتشرَح لي حال الغَريق فَربما
ازاحَت بذكري منجد وجد غائر
By Allah, who ordained pilgrimage to His House
For riders and walkers and all who dwell in tents,
فَلِلَّه عيش بالحمى سمحت به
شحاح الغواني في المغاني الدوائِر
Who circumambulate in devotion, hastening in veneration,
Repeating prayers at Safa and Marwah,
ليال سرقناهن من زمن مضت
به غفلات العيش من شعب حاجر
I will entreat you for affection with my anguished heart
Or with the tears of my eyes that ever remember.
أَما وَالَّذي حج الخَلائق بيته
رجالا وَركباناعَلى كل ضامر
Still the winds spread my unremitting love
Once hidden in the recesses of my soul;
وَمن طاف تعظيما وهرول ساعيا
وَكرر أَذكار الصفا وَالمَشاعِر
Tall as a lance's shadow I left behind
And greeted a wakeful night full of care.
لاستعطفن الوصل منكم عَلى النَوى
بلوعة قلب أَو بعبرة ناظر
Lightning flashes from Mount Ghuwayr in Tihama,
And more light engulfs the towering heights of Najd,
فَما برحت مَرضى الرياح تنم عَن
قديم غرام في خفى ضمائري
As my eyes behold the radiant light of His glory,
Before the Qiblah, banishing all darkness.
وَيوم كظل الرمح خلفت طوله
وَرائي واِستقبلت ليلة ساهر
Rays emanating from the Prophet's tomb, heralding
Good tidings, radiating blessings from his light.
أَشيم بروقا من غوير تهامة
وأخرى بنجد نصب تلك الغَوائِر
He is the Mercy sent down to mankind - blessed indeed!
Noble natured, best of those present and absent!
وَتنظر عيني نور شمس جلاله
قبال قبا تجلود ياجى الدياجر
Did not the moon split at his gesture, a miracle for him,
While clouds shaded the Hawthorn tree where he took rest?
شعاع تسامى من ضَريح محمد
وأشرقن منه طالعات البَشائِر
The prostration of the trees and beasts in awe of him,
The trunk that wept, missing his pulpit's touch,
هُوَ الرَحمة المهداة للخلق حبذا
كَريم السَجايا خير باد وَحاضِر
Pebbles glorifying God as he lifted them in his palm,
And water gushing on the day of the Confederate armies.
أَلَيسَ انشقاق البدر معجزةله
وَظل غمام الجو عند الهواجر
The foreleg of lamb informing him of its poisoning
By the petty deeds of the ignoble Jews.
وَسجدة أَجمال وَسجدة ظبية
وَحنة جذع من هشيم المنابر
The day he called upon trees to come towards him without need -
They raced towards the best of creation with zeal.
وَتَسبيح حصباء ليمن يَمينه
وَفيض زلال الماء يوم العَساكِر
He satiated his whole army at the trench
With a sa'a of barley that was with Jabir.
واخبار عضو الشاة أنى مسمم
فتبا لافعال اليهود الاصاغر
He shot an arrow into a ripe fruit unerringly
Though no horseman could attest to this feat.
وَيوم دعا الاشجار من غير حاجة
سعت نحو خير الخلق سعى مبادر
The Prophet's night journey from Mecca's heart
To the Farthest Mosque in the blink of an eye,
وأشبع يوم الخندق الجيش كله
بصاع شعير كان في بيت جابر
Borne by angels who gathered to accompany him
To the Highest Assembly by the Powerful's decree.
وَفي ثمر أَهوى بسهم فَلَم يزل
بِجيش لهم بالرمى من غير حافِر
Jibril escorted him on that journey of bliss
As celestial beings proclaimed him their guide.
وَمسرى رَسول اللَه من بطن مكة
الى المَسجد الاقصى كلمحة ناظر
He was immersed in Light until he reached
A station where no foot had ever trod,
فأم بها الاملاك وَالرسل واِنثَنى
الى الملا الاعلى بقدرة قادِر
When Allah beckoned him to draw even nearer -
He traversed oceans of Light with joy and awe,
وَساربه جبريل في سمر الرضا
وَبشر من أَهل السما كل سامر
Witnessing realms seen by none but him,
Honored by the Singular with privileges beyond count.
وَزج به في النور حَتّى اذا اِنتَهى
الى موقف ما فيه نهج لسائر
A wilderness of Light seen only by his gaze
As he walked firmly guided by his Creator.
اشار إِليه اللَه بالبشر فاِنثَنى
يَخوض بحار النور خوض مباشر
When he approached within but two bow-lengths
The Merciful adorned him with the crown of glory.
مشاهد لم توطأ بأخمص غيره
وآثار تخصيص عَلى كل آثر
He was offered a cup of love from His Throne,
A drink of proximity no tongue can describe.
وَبَيداء نور وحده جاز جنحها
عَلى قدم ساع إِلى الخير طاهر
Above all prophets he was granted lofty rank,
Saved from comparisons with any being.
فَلَمّا دَنا من قاب قَوسين رفعة
وألبسه الرحمن تاج المفاخر
He was appointed as intercessor for sinners,
With special qualities none can enumerate.
سَقاه بكأس الحب من فوق عرشه
سلافة قرب لا سلافة عاصر
The Standard of Praise and the Pool of abundance await,
Where the thirsty will come to drink from flowing rivers.
وَتوأه فوق النبيين رتبة
تحاشى بها عَن مشبه وَمناظر
To you I come seeking intercession for sinners,
With these poor verses adorned with gems.
وَشفعه في المذنبين مدائحا
خَصائص أخرى لا تعد لحاصر
I have come to you, O Sun of Guidance, beseeching
Intercession for my brother in God, Husawri.
غداة لواء الحمد وَالكوثر الَّذي
يوافيه ظامى الورد بالمصادر
Burdened by sins, he transgressed your commands, my Master -
Be a protector shielding him from all tribulations.
اليك شفع المذنبين مدائحا
مؤلفة تزوى بنظم الجَواهِر
Deal with him kindly, befriend him, give your support,
Remove the woes of both worlds with your gentle grace.
أَتيتك يا شمس الهدى متشفعا
بها لاخى في اللَه أَعنى الحصاورى
Complete your blessings upon kin and friends,
Neighbors, elders, migrants and settled folk.
سميك يا مَولاي أَثقل ظهره
بفعل المناهى واِجتناب الاوامر
May abundant peace and salutations be upon you
Whenever the morning breeze blows or thunder rolls!
فَكن من جَميع النائبات حمى له
وَعامله بالحسنى وواصل وَناصر
Prayers that specifically include you, then encompass
Your companions and Family - the best of people.
ازح محن الدارين بالعطف منك عَن
مؤلفها عَبد الرَحيم المهاجري
وأتمم لنا النعمى عَلى ذي قَرابة
وَصحب وأَشياخ وَحار وَمجاور
وَصلى عليك اللَه ما هبت الصبا
وَما حن رعد في عريض المواطر
صَلاة اذا خصتك عمت بنورها
بقية أَصحاب وآل أَخاير
