1. أَنبيّ دونك عبرتي وَتنهدي

    كمدا عليك فَكَم أَعيد و أَبتَدي

    I lament to you my sighs and sorrows

    As oft as I repeat and begin

  2. أَبني طال بك السقام فَلَيتَني

    أَفديك لو ولد بوالده فدى

    My son, has illness made you suffer long?

    Would that I could ransom you if a father could ransom his son

  3. أَبنيّ ما بيدي الملك حيلة

    لكن أَمدالي ابن آمنة يَدي

    My son, I am powerless

    But I extend to you the hand of the son of Amina

  4. ان ضاق بي وَبك الخناق فَلَم يضق

    عَني وَعنك عَريض جاه محمد

    If distress closes in on me and you

    The vast glory of Muhammad is not too narrow for me and you

  5. ذاكَ الغَياث المُستَغاث به الَّذي

    لَولاه ما كانَ الوجود بموجد

    He is the succor called upon in need

    Without him existence would have no cause

  6. ذاكَ المتوج بالمهابة وَالعلا

    شمس النبوّة عصمة المسترشد

    He whose authority and exaltation are glorious

    The sun of prophethood, the protected guide

  7. هُوَ غيم مرحمة عيد ظلاله

    وَيَفيض نائله لكل موحد

    He is a cloud of tender mercy, its shade a feast day

    And it rains bounty on every monotheist

  8. هُوَ صاحب الاحاكم وَالحكم الَّتي

    طلعت طَلائعها هدى للمهتدى

    He is the authority of judgments and wisdom

    Whose brilliant dawns are guidance for the guided

  9. قمر تسلسل من ذؤابة هاشم

    في السر منها وَالصَريح الامجد

    A moon descending in lineage from Hashim

    In secret and publicly of greatest renown

  10. ملأت محامده الزمان وأسرعت

    شهب النجا ملغور وَلمنجد

    His praises have filled time and accelerated

    Meteors of glory for the aspiring and desiring

  11. رؤوف بامته رحيم مشفق

    متعطف بالود للمتودد

    Compassionate to his nation, merciful, caring

    Gently affectionate to those devoted to him

  12. تَرجوه في الدنيا لنجح مرادنا

    وَنَلوذ منه إِلى الشَفاعة في غد

    In life we hope he will help our purpose prevail

    And in the afterlife we take refuge in his intercession

  13. وَهُوَ الَّذي من قاب قَوسين اِنتَهى

    في القرب يفتح كل باب مؤصد

    He who in the blink of an eye arrived

    To open every closed door in proximity

  14. وَله الفَضيلة وَالوَسيلة رفعة

    وَالفَضل وَالزلفى وَصدق المقعد

    His is superiority, intercession and lofty grace

    Virtue, favor and truthful position

  15. وَالرسل تحشر تحت ظل لوائه

    وَتؤم كوثره الهىء المورد

    The messengers assemble beneath his banner’s shade

    His Kawthar their heavenly drink

  16. جبل فلوذ من الخطوب بعزه

    وَبه نَصول عَلى الزَمان المعتدى

    He is the mountain of refuge from adversities in his might

    By him we climb above the tyrannous times

  17. جعل الصَنائع في الرقاب قَلائِدا

    وَبَني المحامد في عراص الفرقد

    He made excellence necklaces for heads

    And built praises on the brides of tombs

  18. يَتَوسَل المتوسلون بجاهه

    فيرد عنهم كل خطب أَنكد

    Those seeking intercession through his eminence

    He wards from them every miserable plight

  19. جاد الغمام عَلى رباه إِلى ربا

    سلع فَما والى بقيع الغرقد

    The cloud rained generously on its Lord

    Goods never before in the valley of al-Baqee

  20. وَسَقى جَوانِب روضة قدسية

    مَحروسة في ظل ذاك المسجد

    It watered the sides of a holy meadow

    Protected in the shade of that mosque

  21. فَهناك أَرواح النفوس عواكف

    شغفا يا حمد ذائبات الاكبد

    There the souls of the pious stand vigil

    Yearning, O praised one, melting the liver

  22. طوبى لطيبة حيث حل بربعها

    شمس الفخار ففاق شمس الاسعد

    Blessed is Taibah where there settled

    The sun of glory outshining the most fortunate sun

  23. نزل المكان فَكان محترما به

    وَمحا الفسدا فساد كل مسود

    He lodged in the place which thereby gained sanctity

    And erased the corruption of all that was blackened

  24. علم تظلل بالغمامة واِرتَوى

    من ذلك الضرع الاجد الجلد

    He learned in the shade of the cloud and sated thirst

    From that most generous flowing breast

  25. وَالجذع حن له وَسحت الحصى

    في كفه نص الحَديث المسند

    And the sapling inclined toward him while pebbles

    In his palm narrated the verified hadith

  26. هو عدتي هو عمدتي هو ذخرتي

    هُوَ نصرتي هو منقذي هو منجدي

    He is my equipment, my pillar, my treasure

    My victory, my savior, my supporter

  27. يا سيد الثقلين كن لي مسعدا

    فالدَهر يا مَولاي ليسَ بمسعدي

    O master of both creations, be my fortune

    For, my master, time has not been kind to me

  28. هَذا سَميك أَحمد قلق الحشا

    أَتراك تغفل عن سميك أَحمَد

    This is your namesake Ahmad, anxious and concerned

    Will you neglect your namesake Ahmad?

  29. أَلَم الم به فقطع بالبكا

    كبدى وظني فيك غاية مقصدي

    Suffering has touched him reducing him to tears

    Cutting my liver, though my hopes are fixed on you

  30. فاسأل له الرحمن نظرة راحم

    بشمول عافية وَعفو سرمدي

    So ask the Merciful to look on him with mercy

    In all-encompassing wellness and eternal pardon

  31. وأجز بها عبد الرَحيم براءة

    من حر نار جهنم المتوقد

    And so pardon the servant ar-Rahim his guilt

    From Hellfire’s heat, blazing inferno

  32. وَعَليك صَلى اللَه ما هب الصبا

    من طيب طيبة عن شذا الند الندي

    And upon you, O Allah, bless what the morning breeze carries

    Of Taibah’s perfume from the aromatic wet branches

  33. وَعَلى صحابتك الجَميع وكل من

    والاك يشهد حسن ذاك المشهد

    And on all your companions and whoever

    Loves the memory of that blessed gathering
