1. ضربت سعاد خيامها بِفؤادي

    من قَبل سفك دَمي بسفح الوادي

    My heart struck Saada's tent

    Before shedding my blood on the valley's slope

  2. وَغدت تجرعني الهموم فمن لي

    قصمت عراه شماتة الحساد

    She made me drink sorrows, so who is there for me?

    The envious broke its poles out of spite

  3. وَكأَنَّني وَكأَنَّها متودد

    متلطف لظويلم متمادي

    As if I and she are lovers

    Affectionate, intimate, persisting

  4. لعب الفراق بها وَبي فَلَها وَلي

    خبر كوى كبدي بغير زناد

    Parting toyed with her and I, so for her and me

    There is news that burned my liver without flint

  5. وتوعرت طرق التَواصل بَينَنا

    فغدوت نضو صبابة وَبعاد

    The paths of communication between us became rugged

    So I became a companion of distance and remoteness

  6. ما كان حجة من أَقام بِمَكَّة

    أَن لا يحدثني حَديث سعاد

    One who stayed in Mecca had no excuse

    To not talk to me about Saada

  7. بعثت إِلي من الحجاز خَيالها

    شتان بين بلادها وَبلادي

    She sent me from Hijaz her image

    What a difference between her lands and mine!

  8. يا هذه عودتني أَلم الضنا

    وأَراكَ لست أَراك في العواد

    O you who returned my pain of pining

    And I see you, but don't see you at the reunion

  9. وَبأى آونة أَزورك بَعدَما

    حملت هجرك أَضعف الاجساد

    And when will I visit you after

    Bearing your separation burdened my weak body?

  10. فجق حقك ان ملكت فأسحجي

    شيم الكِرام وان أَسرت فَفادى

    Demand your right if you have power and pardon generously

    It is the manner of the honorable, and if you capture then ransom

  11. فَقف المطيّ وَلَو كلمحة ناظر

    بربا المحصب أَو مني يا حادي

    Stop the rider even for a glance

    At Rabba's camp or are you, O guide, leaving?

  12. وأعد حَديثك عَن أباطح مكة

    وَعن الفَريق أَرائح أَم غادي

    And repeat your talk about Abtah's valley in Mecca

    And about the caravan, does it go or return?

  13. وَمسرة للناظرين بدت لَنا

    ما بين سوق سويقة وَجياد

    A joy for onlookers appeared to us

    Between Suwayqah market and Jiad

  14. قنصت عقول أَولى النهي بحبائل

    الصبوات لا بِحَبائل الصياد

    She hunted the minds of the refined ladies with snares

    Not with the hunter's snares

  15. وَمحاسن طلعت طَلائعهن عَن

    حلل الكمال لحاضر وَلبادي

    And beauties whose first signs

    Were of perfect gowns for residents and nomads

  16. عكفت بساحتها الرفاق وانما

    عكفوا عَلى كبد من الاكباد

    The friends hovered around her abode

    Yet they hovered over a blazing liver

  17. هطل الغمام عَلى الحطيم وَزَمزَم

    وَعَلى بقاع بالنقا وَوهاد

    The clouds poured on the ruins, Zamzam

    And on the plains of Naga and Wahad

  18. وَسَرى النَسيم بطيب نسمة طيبة

    فنشقت نفحة عنبر وَجساد

    The soft breeze blew with a soft fragrance

    So a waft of musk and perfume diffuse

  19. بلد سمت أَوطانه وَتشرفت

    بمحمد قمر الكمال الهادي

    A country its lands were ennobled and honored

    By Muhammad, the guiding full moon

  20. فمر محادين الضَلالة بالهدى

    وأذل أَهل البَغي والالحاد

    The misguided passed with guidance

    And the wrongful and atheists were humiliated

  21. قمر أَضاء النور لَيلة وَضعه

    من مكة لدمشق أَو بغداد

    A moon that illuminated the light the night he was born

    From Mecca to Damascus or Baghdad

  22. قمر حمى الدين الحَنيف بسيفه

    شرفا وأحرز سبق كل جهاد

    A moon that protected the true faith with his sword

    With honor, achieving precedence over all strife

  23. قمر أَباد المشركين بسادة

    فاقَت عزائمهم عَلى الآساد

    A moon that destroyed the pagans, their chiefs

    Their resolves failed against the lions

  24. قمر سقى الجَيش العَظيم بكفه

    نهرا أَزالَ غَليل كل فؤاد

    A moon who quenched with his palm the great army

    A stream that removed all hearts' anguish

  25. هُوَ أَشرَف العربين مجدا باذخا

    وأحق من يَعلو عَلى الامجاد

    He is the most noble of Arabs in glorious distinction

    And most deserving to rise above glories

  26. هُوَ شمس عبد مناف العلياعات

    مضر بجديه عَلى الانجاد

    He is the sun of lofty Abd Manaf

    Mudar, his ancestry upon ancestries

  27. هُوَ جاوز السبع السَموات العلى

    وَالعرش فيما صح من اسناد

    He transcended the highest seven heavens

    And the Throne, according to authentic narrations

  28. هُوَ في الجَلالة قال سيده له

    سل ما تحب فأَنتَ خير عبادي

    In majesty, his Master told him

    "Ask what you wish, you are the best of My servants."

  29. هُوَ خير من كمل الاناس به من ال

    أَبناء والآباء والاجداد

    He is the best of people, perfected through him

    Sons, fathers, and forefathers

  30. هُوَ سيد الكَونين وَالثقلين لا

    شمه له في الغور والانحاد

    He is the master of the two races, mankind and jinn

    Without equal in valor and loneliness

  31. هُوَ أَكرَم الكُرماء ان عصفت به

    ريح السماح وأجود الاجواد

    He is the most generous of the generous, if

    The wind of tolerance blew at him, most generous

  32. هُوَ ذخرتي هو موئلى وَمأملي

    هُوَ عمدتي هو عدتي وَعتادي

    He is my treasure, my refuge and hope

    My pillar, my weaponry and supplies

  33. هُوَ أَحمَد الهادي المجاهد والَّذي

    يروى بكوثره الغَليل الصادي

    He is Ahmad the Guide, the fighter who

    Quenches with his pool the thirsty pilgrim

  34. هُوَ تحت ساق العرش يسجد شافِعا

    في الخلق ان حشروا الى الميعاد

    Beneath the Throne he prostrates interceding

    For people on the Day they are gathered for Judgement

  35. هُوَ مَن يَلوذ غدا بظل لوائه

    كل الوَرى وَالرسل والاشهاد

    He is the one under whose banner shade

    All people, messengers, and witnesses will flock

  36. هُو عمدة الامم الَّتي لَو لَم يَكُن

    فيها لقد كانَت بغير عماد

    He is the pillar of nations, that had he not been

    Among them, they would have no pillar

  37. هُو هازم الاقران في فتكاته

    وَمدمر العشرات بالآحاد

    He is the defeater of peers in his conquests

    And destroyer of tens in single combats

  38. ما ان رجوت به الهدى لِضَلالَتي

    الا لقيت بها صلاح فَسادى

    I did not hope to be guided from my misguidance

    Except that I found through it reform of my loss

  39. مَولاي خد بيدي وأقض حَوائجي

    واعطف عَليّ ولبّ حين أُنادي

    My Master, take my hand and fulfill my needs

    And show me kindness, respond when I call

  40. واقبل خويدمك المعلم انه

    فلس من التَقوى قَليل الزاد

    Accept your humble, deficient servant

    With little piety, meager provision

  41. حملت ذي النفس الضَعيفة ثقلها

    وَشغلت بين أصادق وأعادي

    I carried my feeble soul's burden and busied myself

    Between friends and foes

  42. في الخيمة انقصمت عراي لزلتي

    وَالنار للعاصين بالمرصاد

    In the tent, my supports collapsed from my stumbling

    And for the disobedient is the ambush of fire

  43. وَعَريض جاهك يا محمد عصمتي

    وَكِفايَتي وَهدايَتي وَرَشادي

    The breadth of Your bounty, O Muhammad, is my protection

    And my adequacy, guidance, and proper path

  44. فاشدد عرا عَبد الرَحيم برحمة

    يَلقى بِها في الحشر خير مهاد

    So brace the ties of Your servant ar-Rahim with mercy

    Whereby he will attain the best resting place amid the Resurrection

  45. واجعل يديك حمى له وَلاهله

    وَالصحب والآباء والاولاد

    Make Your hands his protection, and his family

    Companions, fathers, and children

  46. فَلأنت أَمنع من لجأت اليه في

    دار اقامَتي وَمَعادي

    For You are more impregnable than any refuge

    In the abode of my dwelling and return

  47. واعطف عَليّ بنفحة نبوية

    لا نال غاية مطلبي وَمُرادي

    And bestow on me a Prophet's breath

    By which I obtain the goal of my wish and desire

  48. وَمكارم موصولة بمكارم

    وَلطائف وَعَواطِف وَأَيادي

    And perfect bounties connected to perfect bounties

    And subtle kindnesses and hands

  49. واسمع جواهر أَحرف عربية

    زفت اليك فَصيحة الانشاد

    And hear the jewels of Arabic letters

    Presented to You in recited chant

  50. وانهض بقائلها وَصاحبه فقد

    خصاك اذ صدا عَن الوراد

    Rise up for their sayer and companion, for he has

    Singled You out as he blocked the visitors

  51. فَتَراهما وفدا عليك ليحظيا

    يا سَيدي بِكَرامة الوفاد

    So may You see them as a delegation to You, to gain

    My Master, the honor of visitors

  52. وَتول كاتبها الضَعيف وكن له

    يد نصرة من شر كل عناد

    And take care of the weak writer, and be for him

    A hand of help against any stubbornness

  53. وعليك صَلى اللَه يا علم الهدى

    ما ارفضَّ في الاقطار صوب عهاد

    Upon You, O Muhammad, the flag of guidance

    Wherever the quarters of settled abode face

  54. وَعلى صحابتك الكرام الزهر ما

    نادىّ بحي عَلى الصَلاةمنادى

    And upon Your noble companions, the blossoms, whenever

    A caller calls: Come to prayer!
