صَاغَ الإمَامُ العَالِمُ ابْنُ الحَاجِبُ
دُرَراً مَعَانيهَا كَغَمزِالحَاجِبِ
The Imam, the scholar Ibn Al-Hajib
Has crafted pearls, their hints like an eyebrow's wink
تَخفى عَلى الأفهَامِ مُقْتَضَيَاتُهَا
فَكَأنَّهَا عَن أن تُرى في حَاجِبِ
Their implications are hidden from minds
As if they refuse to be seen through the eyebrow
فإذا اللَّبيبُ الألْمُعيُّ أجادَهَا
قَالَتْ أنا السِّحرُ الحَلالُ فَحَاجِ بِي
But when the brilliant adept masters them
They say, "I am the lawful magic, so debate me"
