عِشْ بِخَيرٍ إثْرَ خَيرْ

مَا عَلَى ظَنِّكَ ضَيرْ

Live well after good

No harm is to your thinking

كُلَّمَا حَاوَلْتُ طَوراً

قَادَهُ أيْمَنُ طَيرْ

Whenever I tried an occasion

The auspicious bird led it

يَا مَلِيكاً حِلمُهُ أوْ

جُودُهُ لَيسَ لِغَيْر

O king whose patience or

Generosity is for none but the generous

فُزْ بِأيَّامِ سُرُورٍ

سَيرُهَا أحسَنُ سَيْر

Win days of bliss

Its procession is the best procession

فَتَرَى شَهْراً كَبيراً

بِالهَنَا بَعْدَ شُهَيْر

You will then see a great month

With delight after hardship

فَإذا الأوَّلُ مِنْهَا

مَرَّ فِي خَيرٍ وَمَيْر

When the first of them

Passed in good and plenty

قِيلَ فِي ثَانِيهِ أرّخٍ

صَفَراً جَادَ لِخَيْر

It was said in its second, mark
