سَقَى اللهُ مِنَ السِّقايَةِ مَا يُبرِي

مِنَ السَّقَمِ البادِي أوِ الدَّاخِلِ الصَّدرِ

God quenched with water from this fountain, relieving

The evident illness or that in the heart's depths.

فَيَا مُبرِداً مِنْ عَذبِهَا فَادْعُ هَكَذا

لِمَنْ قد شَفى أكْبادَ مِثلِك في الحَرِّ

So you cooled by its sweetness, pray like this:

For He who cured livers like yours in the heat.

حَبَاكَ عَلِيَّ بنُ الحُسَينِ بِمِثلْهَا

كَثِيراً وَلَكِنْ هَذِهِ تُحْفَةُ الدَّهْرِ

Many times 'Ali ibn al-Husayn gifted me such,

But this is a prize of fate,

لِمَا أنَّهَا حَازَتْ ضَرِيحاً لأصلِهِ

وَجَامِعِهِ فَازْدَادَ عَوناً عَلَى الذّكْرِ

Because it contained his ancestor's tomb

And his mosque, so remembrance was better aided.

وَقَدْ رَمَزَتْ عِنْدَ الكَمَالِ بِأنَّهُ

لِخَيْرٍ إذا ما النَّاسُ خافوا مِنَ الشَّرِ

It symbolized, at perfection, that for any good,

When people fear evil.

فَلَيسَ يَرَى من بَعدِ ذا مَا يَسوؤهُ

وَفِي ضِمنِ ذا جَمعُ السَّلامَةِ وَالظَّفْرِ

None shall then see, after this, what harms him,

For in this is collected well-being and victory.

وَذِي نِعْمَةٍ مَا حَازَهَا ذُو رِئَاسَة

بِتونِس لاَ قَبلاً ولاَ بَعْدَ ذا العَصَرِ

Blessed is he of high station in Tunis

Who attained this bounty, none before or after this age.

وَإنْ كُنتَ عَن سِرّ الإشَارَةِ سَائِلاً

فَمَطْلَعُهُ تَارِيخُهَا صَفَرُ الخَيْرِ

If you ask about the hint's secret,

Its horizon is the date, the month of goodness.
