1. إذا اللهُ حَيَّا خُلَّةً عَنْ خَلِيلِهِ

    فَحيَّا مَلِيكُ النَّاسِ هنْدَ بْنَ عَاصِمِ

    If God let one be apart from a friend

    Then may He let King Hind ibn Al-A'asim live

  2. وَكُل سَلُولِيَّ إذا مَا لَقِيتَهُ

    سَرِيعٌ إلى دَاعي الْعُلاَ وَالمَكَارِمِ

    And every honourable man, when you meet him

    Is quick to the caller of nobility and virtues

  3. هُمُ الْبِيضُ أقْدَاماً وَديبَاجَ أوْجُه

    كِرامٌ إذا اغْبَرَّتْ وُجُوُهُ الألاَئِمِ

    They are the white-footed, brocade-faced ones

    Noble, even if the faces of the wicked are dust-stained

  4. وَلاَ يَأكُلُ الكَلْبُ السَّرُوقُ نِعَالَهُمْ

    وَلاَ تَنْتَقِي الْمُمَّ الَّذِي فِي الْجَماجِمِ

    Nor does the thieving dog steal their shoes

    Nor does the vermin pick that which is in the skulls
