أَطافَت بِنا شَمسُ النَهارِ وَمَن رأَى

مِنَ الناسِ شَمساً بِالعِشاءِ تَطوفُ

The sun of daytime circled around us, and whoever

أَبو أُمِّها أَوفى قُرَيشٍ بِذِمَّةٍ

وَأَعمامُها إِمّا سَأَلتَ ثَقيفُ
