1. يقول علوى دعيتك باعتراف

    يا رب لطفك على من في السقيف

    Al-Alawi said, I called upon you with a confession

    O Lord, your kindness upon those in hardship

  2. يا الله بالي رحم حال الجراف

    بالغيل وقد كان من الخضره نظيف

    O God, have mercy on the state of barrenness

    With infertility, though it was of green purity

  3. واد لذهبان من الرزق الكفاف

    واسبلت سترك على كم من شريف

    The valley of Dhahban lacks adequate livelihood

    You covered many honorable ones with your veil

  4. جعلت بير العزب حق اللطاف

    والروضه النائيه كم من كثيف

    You made Beer Al-Azab a place of gentleness

    And the remote meadow, how dense it is

  5. بير العزب غيمها مثل السجاف

    وحرها في الربيع يبقى سجيف

    Beer Al-Azab, its cloud is like peeled bark

    And its heat in spring remains blazing

  6. والروضه الغانيه حق النظاف

    من كان قامز وعاد فيه الطفيف

    The melodious meadow is a place of cleanliness

    Where one who was barren, fertility returned to him

  7. وغيمها في الغلط مثل اللحاف

    وكرم درب السلاطين يالطيف

    Its cloud during rain is like a quilt

    And the valley of kings is gentle

  8. وفي الشتا اوجاههم مثل الشقاف

    وقد ترونق مع ايام الخريف

    In winter, their faces are like chattering teeth

    Having blossomed during the days of autumn

  9. والبورعي عندهم مثل الغداف

    صوته خلاسي من الماء والصعيف

    The nightingale with them is like the cheeky

    Its voice is sweet from the water and the weak

  10. والبورعي عندنا شارب سلاف

    يروح وعاد السراج فوق الصفيف

    While the nightingale with us drinks sour milk

    It comes and goes while the lantern is above the shed

  11. قالوا وحمامكم مرقوف رقاف

    يشهد بهذا ابن الذريره والنصيف

    They said your pigeon is built with bricks

    This is witnessed by the son of Dharyrah and An-Nusayf

  12. والجو بعد الغدا مثل الوطاف

    والشمس مصفى ولو ما به دفيف

    The weather after tomorrow is like floating

    The sun filtered even without kindling

  13. يصبح من البرد في القد انعكاف

    والليلة الموحشة تسمع وديف

    One recoils from the cold in the bones

    The lonely night you hear lamentation

  14. تخشى عليهم من البرد النشاف

    لا به مربا ولا ثربه عليف

    You fear the severe cold for them

    Neither does it have a companion nor a friendly tent

  15. وكم مولع بها ملقوف لقاف

    لا قات يلقى ولا به ماء خفيف

    And how much a passionate lover is locked up

    Finding neither rest nor a bit of comfort

  16. وفي الخريف ما ترى مجرور مضاف

    إلا الصفى من حوى المجد المنيف

    You see in autumn no caravan camp

    Except the sword from the sheath of glorious purpose

  17. أبو العزوز مروى البيض الرهاف

    الماجد المنبع البر التحيف

    Abu Al-Azouz, watered with white pureness

    The glorious source of righteous softness

  18. من رمح قده قدوه يشتى لقاف

    ومن معه عنفقه سبلة عسيف

    With his spear his leadership is coveted by yearning lovers

    And his companions, he spends his money generously

  19. يقلع بجوده لمن جاوز حراف

    ويطعم الضيف معصوب الرغيف

    With his generosity he pulls those who exceeded limits

    And feeds the guest pressed dried bread
