يَا صَاحِ هَلْ أَنْتَ بالتَّعْرِيجِ تَنْفَعُنَا

عَلَى مَنَازِلَ بالبَرْقَاءِ مُنْعَرَجُ

Oh companion, do you benefit us with wandering

Around dwellings in Al-Barqa'a, winding,

عَلَى مَنازِلَ بالطَّاوُوسِ قَدْ دَرَسَتْ

تُسْدِي الجَنُوبُ عليها ثُمَّ تَتْتَسِجُ

Around dwellings in Al-Taawous, which have decayed -

The sides pour rain on them, then weep.
