حَلَّت عَقَارِبُ صُدغِهِ في خَدِّهِ
قَمَرا فَجَلَّ بِهَا عَنِ التَّشبِيهِ
The scorpions of his temple settled on his cheek—
The scorpion's claws settled on his cheek
a moon that, through them, rose beyond compare.
Like a moon, outshining any comparison.
وَلَقَد عَهِدنَاهُ يَحلُّ بِبُرجِهَا
فَمِنَ العَجَائِبِ كَيفَ حَلَّت فِيهِ
And indeed, we have known it to dwell in their zodiac sign;
We knew him to settle in its constellation,
so how wondrous that they have settled within it!
So how strange that it settled on him!
