تُسىءُ وَلا تَستَنكِرُ السوءَ إِنَّها
تُدِلٌ بِما تَبلوهُ عِندي وَتَعرِفُ
She does me wrong, yet finds no wrong in wrongdoing—for she
takes liberties, sure of what she has tested in me and knows.
فَمِن أَينَ ما اِستَعطَفتُها لا تَرِقُّ لي
وَمِن أَينَ ما جَرَّبتَ صَبرِيَ يَضعُفُ
For no matter how I seek to move her pity, she does not soften toward me;
yet no matter how she tries my patience, it gives way.
