لاحظته فتغيَّرت

لحظاته غضباً لحربي

I noticed him, so I changed

His moments to wrath for my war

فاستلَّ من أجفانه

سيفاً وأغمده بقلبي

So he drew from his eyelids

A sword and sheathed it in my heart

يا من رأى في دهره

قلباً غدا غمداً لعضبِ

O you who saw in his time

A heart that became a sheath for anger
