  1. أذكريني كلَّما الفجر بدا

    ناشراً في الأفق أعلام الضياءْ

    Remember me whenever dawn breaks

    Spreading flags of light across the horizon

  2. يبعث الأطيار في أوْكارها

    فتحيِّيه بترديد الغناءْ

    It rouses the birds in their nests

    So they greet it with melodious song

  3. قد سهرتُ الليلَ وحدي

    بين آلامي وسُهْدي

    I stayed up all night alone

    Between my sorrows and wakefulness

  4. وانجلى الصبح وهلاَّ

    وانطوى الليل وولَّى

    The morning dawned bright

    The night folded up and turned away

  5. فتذكّرتُ الذي كان وراحا

    حين أفنيناه أُنساً ومِراحا

    Then I remembered what had been and gone

    When we lost him, gentle and kind

  6. وجرى دمعيَ من فرْطِ حنيني

    فارحمي قلبي وحنِّي واذكريني

    And my tears flowed from longing

    So have mercy on my heart, sympathize, and remember me

  7. أذكريني كلما الطيرُ شدا

    مرسلاً في الدوحِ ألحان الصفاءْ

    Remember me whenever the birds sing out

    Sending melodies soaring through the air

  8. يُنصت الزهرُ إلى أنغامه

    فيحيِّيه ببشْرٍ وانحناءْ

    The flowers listen to their tunes

    And greet them with cheer and swaying

  9. قد ظللتُ اليوم أبكي

    من أذى دهري ومنكِ

    Today I spent weeping

    From the torment of fate and you

  10. وشدا الطيرُ وغنَّى

    وتناجى وتهنّى

    The birds sang out and rejoiced

    Conversing and celebrating

  11. فتذكّرتُ الذي طاف بسمعي

    إذ مزجت الكأس في كفِّي بدمعي

    Then I remembered what had touched my hearing

    When I mixed the cup in my hand with my tears

  12. وهفا قلبيَ من طولِ أنيني

    فارحمي دمعي وغنِّي واذكريني

    And my heart quivered from prolonged lamenting

    So have mercy on my tears, sing, and remember me

  13. اذكريني كلّما الليلُ سجَا

    باعثاً في النفس ذكرى الأوفياء

    Remember me whenever the night descends

    Evoking memories of loyalty

  14. يعرض الماضي ويجْلو صفحةً

    أشرق الإخلاصُ فيها والولاءْ

    The past parades by and reveals a page

    Where sincerity and loyalty shone bright

  15. قد سقيت الحبَّ وُدِّي

    ورعيتُ العمرَ عهْدي

    I nurtured my love and loyalty

    And spent my life true to my vow

  16. وبدا لي ما ألاقي

    من تباريحِ الفراقِ

    What I encountered was revealed to me

    Of the agonies of separation

  17. فتذكرت ليالينا المواضي

    بين شكوى وَتَجنٍّ وتراضِ

    Then I remembered our nights in the meadows

    Between complaining, yearning, and consenting

  18. واشتكتْ روحيَ من نار شجوني

    فصِليني بالتَّمَنِّي واذكريني

    And my soul complained of the fire of my longing

    So join me in wishing, and remember me
