هذا الإمام الشافعي كنز الكرم

هذا ابن إدريس الإمام المحترم

This Imam Al-Shafi'i, the treasure of generosity

This son of Idris, the revered Imam

هذا هو الحصن الحصين لمن أتى

يرجو نداه أن استجار أو اعتصم

This is the stronghold, fortress for whoever comes

Seeking his help, to find refuge or protection

هذا الذي ضربت به الأمثال في

علم وفي حلم وفي حسن الشيم

This one about whom parables are given regarding

Knowledge, patience and good traits

هذا ابن عم المصطفى سامى الذرا

هذا ابن زمزم والصفا والملتزم

This cousin of Mustafa, sublime lineage

This son of Zamzam, Safa and Al-Multazam

هذا هو القرشيّ حبر أئمة

هذا ابن سادات المشاعر والحرم

This is the Qurashi, scholar of the Imams

This son of the masters of the holy precincts

هذا هو البدر المنير ومن به

ثغر الشريعة والحقيقة قد بسم

This is the shining full moon, and through him

The lips of Sharia and truth have smiled

هذا الذي صح الحديث بأنه

يملا طباق بالأرض علما مع حكم

This one about whom it is authentic that

His knowledge and wisdom will fill the earth

من بحر هذا الحبر قد نبع الهدى

والشرع قام به على أقوى قدم

From the sea of this scholar, guidance has sprung

And the Sharia stands on the strongest foundation

من فوق لجته السفينة قد جرت

إن السفينة تعتلى البجر الخضم

From above his vast sea the ship has sailed

Verily the ship rides the tumultuous ocean

حبرٌ له عنت الملوك مهابة

والعرب قد شهدت بذلك والعجم

A scholar whose glory made kings stand in awe

And Arabs and non-Arabs have borne witness

مصر به وبآل بيت المصطفى

نالت علوا لا يقدر بالقيم

Through him and the Household of Mustafa

Egypt has attained a glory beyond value

وبهم غدت للفضل أرفع كعبة

أمت مغاني فضلها كل الأمم

And through them it became the highest sanctuary of virtue

Its abundant virtues have satisfied all nations

يا معشر الزوار إن إمامنا

ركن ركين في الشدائد يلتزم

O pilgrims, our Imam is a firm, sturdy pillar

In times of distress, steadfast and refuge‐giving

ما أمه راج ولاذ بجاهه

إلا ونال العز منه والنعم

None sought his assistance or protection

Except that they attained honor and bounty from him

وغدا حليف النصر فيما يبتغى

وإذا رآه الخصم ولى وانهزم

And he became an ally of victory in their quest

Whenever an opponent saw him, he turned and fled

إن الإمام أبو المكارم والعطا

رب الندى وأبو المواهب والهمم

Verily, the Imam Abu Al-Makarim (the Bountiful)

Lord of munificence, Benefactor of aspirations and resolves

فلكم أمد بجاهه وبفضله

قوما فنالوا مقعد الصدق الأمم

In his name and through his merit and grace

Peoples have attained the abode of truthfulness

ولكم له منن وحسن مواهب

تربو على قطر الغمام إذا انسجم

And through him, many a favour and kindly gift

Rising above the clouds when they gather

ولكم له في الرأي أقوى حجة

عدت لدى الأعلام من آي الحكم

And through his convincing argument in legal reason

Considered definitive proof by the learned

يكفيه إجلالا حديث المصطفى

قبل الظهور إلى الوجود من العدم

It suffices him as an honor that the words of Mustafa

Prior to coming into existence from nonexistence

وشهادة الحبر المعظم مالك

والصاحبين وكان طفلا ما احتلم

And the testimony of the great scholar Malik

And the two companions while he was still a child

هذا هو المجد الأثيل وليس

بالأموال والأولاد أو وفر الحشم

This is true everlasting glory, not through

Wealth, children or ample means

يا قوم هذا يوم مولده الذي

فيه العطايا والمواهب تقتسم

O people this is the day of his birth in which

Gifts and presents are shared out

فاستبشروا جمعا بحسن هباته

فيها لجمعكم الإمام قد التزم

So rejoice together in his fine bestowals

For through them the Imam has brought you together

يا صاحب الجاه العزيز جنابه

عودتنا كرما فعجل بالكرم

O kind master, his eminent, glorious side

We have returned seeking thy generosity, so be generous

وانظر لمن ولج الرحاب ومن دنا

ولمن بمولدك المعظم قد خدم

And see to the one who has entered the sanctuary and come near

And to the one who has served this great birthday of thine

ولمن أقام به الشعار مخلصا

ولمن سعى ولمن دعا ولمن رسم

And to the one who has faithfully upheld its tokens

And to the one who has labored, prayed and inscription inscribed

واجعل لأهل العلم منك مكانة

إن العلوم بأهلها قد تحترم

And give the people of knowledge through thy position, priority

For sciences are respected through their masters

يا رب صل على النبي وآله

من للنبوة والرسالة قد ختم

O God, bless the Prophet and his household

The seal of prophethood and message he concluded
