1. يَا أُهَيْلَ الحَيِّ مِنْ ذَاكَ الحِمَى

    أَنْتُمُ المَقْصُودُ مِنْ كُلِّ الوُجُودْ

    O people of life from that feverish concern

    You are the purpose of all existence

  2. ظَبْيُّ أَبْيَاتِكُمُ ذَاكَ الَّذي

    لاَ تَسَلْ مَا حَلَّ مِنْهُ بالأُسُودْ

    The Gazelle of your verses, that one

    Do not ask what has befallen it from misfortunes

  3. وَسَقِيمُ الجَفْنِ قَدْ صَحَّ لَهُ

    سُنَّةُ المَنْعِ وَإِبْطَالُ الوُعُودْ

    And the sick of eyelids has recovered for him
