Pour me a draught, pure from your hand
whose cheek its brightness garbs in flame
As if the water of clear skies
met from your smile, like lover’s claim.
And so I seize what green survives,
though death has danced the heads and feet.
Amazed, that as my thirst expands,
my drunkenness from you grows replete.
