The gazelle of the desert from the glades of Najd

To your face my orientation, to your love my goal

And your religion in continually drawing nearer

Obligatory on me, and before me, and in my constitution

I yearn when the ostriches smile

Fragrant with the tail of an Indian drape

And I pour for the Najdi youth when he travels

Between the sand dunes and soft land

And the beloved of the guide is envied

By every elegant branch of the gum trees

His glances gave the lovers a cup

Gifted by his mole with the seal of nobility

So they savored in his love distracted

With no end and no limit

To the kiss of his face always my prayers

And the kissing of roses from his cheeks my want
