The estrangement of my beloved persists
Never absent, never gone
If only estrangement could live
Then those in love would not die
Oh what mercy in the breaking of the eyelid
That knows no waking, only sinking
Wine flowed till he was ruined
And wine is most difficult indeed
Oh branch that does not sway my way
Though swaying becomes a bough
You've made me sick like a soft breeze
Why not bend when I blow?
