If wine has become dear and forbidden

And Islam and discomfort stand in its way

Then I drink it pure and ingest it

Mixed, and sometimes I become intoxicated and merge

And a female singer may stand over me

Who, when she raises her melodious voice

Raises her voice sometimes and lowers it

As the buzzing flies of the lush garden
