رَأيتُكَ في المَنَامِ كَسَوتَ جِلدِي
ثِياباً جَمَّةً وَقَضَيتَ دَينِي
I saw you in a dream: you clothed my skin
in garments aplenty, and settled my debt.
فكانَ بَنَفسَجِيُّ الخَزِّ فيها
وَسَاجٌ نَاعِمٌ فَأَتمَّ زَيني
Among them were purple khazz silk
and a soft sāj cloak, completing my finery.
فَصَدِّق يا فَدَتكَ النَّفسُ رُؤيَا
رَأَتها في المنام كَذَاك عَيني
So make the vision come true—may my soul ransom you—
the one my own eye saw just so in sleep.
