1. أَمَا وَرَبِّ العَادِيَاتِ ضَبحَا

    حَقّاً وَرَبِّ المُورِياتِ قَدحَا

    By the Lord of the running horses at daybreak,

    panting, and by the lord of the striking fire by night,

  2. إنَّ المُغِيراتِ عَلَيَّ صُبحا

    والنَّاكِئَاتِ مِن فُؤَادي قَرحَا

    surely these changers upon me at dawn

    and those waking me from my heart have wounded,

  3. عَشرُ لَيَالٍ بَينَهُنَّ صَبحَا

    يَجلُفنَ مالي كُلَّ عَامٍ صَبحَا

    ten nights between them passed at dawn,

    despoiling my wealth each year at dawn
