that shimmers in the vessel when it is mixed?

  3. A pure wine, colored like a rooster’s eye,

whose gleam is like the flame of a lamp.

  4. It was cooked by God’s fire until

it became a spray of droplets.

  5. Hearts delight in it and long for it

when it appears, shimmering in glass.

  6. Am I led to prison without a crime,

as though I were one of the tax officials?

  7. Had I been confined with them, it would have been easy,

but I was confined with the chickens:

  8. hens circled by a rooster

who speaks in cries whenever he speaks.

  9. My sins had already been telling me

that I would not escape your punishment.

  10. Yet, though I have suffered harm,

I still hope for your kindness after that harm.
