قد جاءنا رائد الربيع

بمنظرٍ رائقٍ بديع

The herald of spring has come to us

With a charming and wonderful scene

هو البهار الذي تعلى

وجل في حسنه الرفيع

He is the blossom that rose high

And transcended in his sublime beauty

كأنه مقلةً تشكى

إلى الحياقلة الهجوع

As if he were an eyelid complaining

To the barren fields

أكف كافورةٍ قد أومت

بكأس تبر إلى الربيع

Palms of camphor that have gestured

With a cup of April showers to spring

أو شعلة النار وسط ماءٍ

جسد من ثوبه النصوع

Or a flame amidst water

A body shedding its worn-out clothes
