إنّما الوردُ في ذُرى شجراتِه

كأجَلّ الملوكِ في هَيئاتِه

The rose's abode is but branches and trees,

Like the greatest of kings in robes and degrees,

رائقٌ منظراً وخُبراً وفدُّ

في حُلاهُ التي حَلَت وصفاته

Pleasant in sight, scent, and all who draw near,

In the clothes it's adorned and traits it wears,

نفحة المِسكِ من شذا نفحاته

خجَلُ الخدّ من سنا خَجَلاتِه

The musk's breath in the fragrances it bears,

Shy cheeks blushing like its bashfulness flares,

مُزجت حُمرةُ اليواقيتِ بالدُّ

رَ فجاءت بهِ على حَسبِ ذاتِه

Ruby red mixes with pearls white as snow,

Bringing together the best of highs and lows,

مثلما جاء من سماحٍ وبأسٍ

خُلقُ الحميريّ سُمّ عُداتِه

As it came with generosity and might,

The Humeiri's nature, venomous blight,

إن يعِد فالوفاءُ حتمٌ عليهِ

فرضُهُ في صِلاته كَصَلاتِه

If he promises, loyalty no doubt,

His duty's commands are just like his pious route.
