يا من تأَزّر بالمكارمِ وارتدى
بالمجدِ والفضلِ الرفيع الفائِق
O you who have clothed yourself with virtues and donned
Glory and sublime merit,
انظُر إلى خدّ الربيع مركباً
في وجه هذا المهرجان الرائقِ
Look upon the cheek of spring, adorned
With the radiant face of this festival,
وردٌ تقدّم اذ تأخرّ واغتدى
في الحسن والإحسان أول سابق
Roses coming forth though late, excelling
In beauty and benevolence, the first to race,
وافاكَ مشتملاً بثوبِ حيائهِ
خجلاً لأن حيائه آخرَ لاحق
Coming to you cloaked in their shyness
For their shyness ever comes last.
