كأنّ نَورَ الكتّانِ حين بدا

وقد جلا حُسنُهُ صدا الأَنفُس

As if the linen's light when it appeared

And its beauty shone, catching breaths

اكفُّ فيروزَجٍ معاصمُها

قد سترتُهنَّ خُضرةُ الملبَس

With turquoise bracelets adorning their wrists

Covered by the greenness of their dresses

أولا فزرقُ الياقوتِ قد وضعت

على بساطٍ تروقُ من سُندس

First, the blue of sapphires was placed

On a carpet delicately woven with silk
