1. O Answerer of the prayer of Dhul-Nun,

    in the depths of the seas,

  2. answer the sorrowful one's plea:

    he has called out in dire need.

  3. O my God, long have I prayed,

    certain of deliverance;

  4. my plight and my story are laid

    before You, O my Master.

  5. From You come both giving and withholding;

    You—You are God.

  6. Yours is the command of kāf and nūn,

    and Yours is all power.

  7. You are the one who saves me from my darkness,

    so hasten—make haste!

  8. The sea is bridled by Your power;

    You are the finest provision.

  9. Bridle my foe and shield me from his evil,

    and grant me what I desire.

  10. Lord, make his ruin a lesson

    for all Your servants.

  11. Make him taste torment in humiliation,

    and cast him into destruction.

  12. Lord, he is a rebellious man among the people, obsessed

    with laying waste to the land.

  13. Lord, exchange my hardship for ease,

    and grant me acceptance,

  14. with an abundance of good, readily bestowed,

    within my reach.

  15. Lord, open the doors through which my affairs may prosper,

    and grant me entry.

  16. Fulfill my hopes and thereby gladden my eyes;

    You are kind to Your servant.
