إِذا لَبِسوا عَمائِمَهُم ثَنَوها
عَلى كَرَمٍ وَإِن سَفَروا أَناروا
When they don their turbans, they wind them over nobility;
and when they unveil their faces, they shine.
يَبيعُ وَيَشتَري لَهُم سِواهُم
وَلَكِن بِالرِماحِ هُمُ تِجارُ
Others do their buying and selling for them,
but with spears, they themselves are merchants.
إِذا ما كُنتَ جارَ بَني لُؤَيٍّ
فَأَنتَ لأكرم الثقَلَينِ جارُ
If you are under the protection of the sons of Lu’ayy,
you are the neighbor of the noblest of humankind and jinn.
