    what hope, then, is there for his cure?

  3. He was nearly hidden by the wasting of his—

    body, until you could no longer see him.

  4. If one wasted away could vanish from the ey—

    —e, his wasting would have hidden him.

  5. How excellent a master is al-Rassī,

    whose rule has pleased the people!

  6. May God make his enem—

    —ies ransom him from every evil.

  7. For surely he is assured of wea—

    —lth who shelters beneath his heights.

  8. He rose until his ascent reached its utmost

    in the heights of honor.

  9. None could reach, in sovereign—

    —ty and glory, the bounds he attained.

  10. A king whose sanctuary, since he wielded pow—

    —er, has remained inviolate.

  11. An ocean of generosity that does not know

    where its furthest shore may lie.

  12. Never was one disappointed whose hope among men was Ibra—

    —him.

  13. No; nor does he fear the vicissitudes of ti—

    —me, should they assail him.

  14. Whoever seeks sufficiency through him is spared the harm of the da—

    —ys, and he is shielded from Time itself.

  15. How could I fail to praise one when no—

    —creature is untouched by his bounty?
