1. أَبي لُجَيمٍ وَاِسمُهُ مِلءُ الفَمِ

    في غَلصَمِ الهامِ وَهامِ الغَلصَمِ

    My father is Lujaym, and his name fills the mouth,

    In the gullets of heads, and the heads of gullets.

  2. تِلكُم لُجَيمٌ فَمَتى نُخَرطِمِ

    تَخطِمُ أُمرَ قَومِها وَتَخطِمِ

    There you have Lujaym—when are we ever led by the nose?

    She takes her people’s affairs by the nose, and strikes noses;

  3. أَخطِمُ أَنفَ الطامِحِ المُطَمَّمِ

    I strike the nose of the overreaching, overweening man.
