Reason, in its workings, marvels

The mind is amazed by how it behaves

at whoever relies upon the days;

Of one who on days relies

فنوالها كالريح منقلبٌ

فنوالها كالريح منقلبٌ

ونعيمها كالظل منتقل

ونعيمها كالظل منتقل

for their bounty is changeable as the wind,

For their gifts like the wind change

and their bliss is fleeting as a shadow.

And their comforts like shadows migrate
