O rider, setting out in the morning for your destination,
Turn aside; let me tell you of some of what I feel.
ماnot عالجَstruggled with الناسُpeople مِنany وجدٍlonging تضمّنهمencompassed them
إلّاexcept that وَوجديand my longing بهfor him فوقَgreater than الّذيwhat أجدُI find
No longing have people wrestled with that has held them fast,
But my longing for him exceeds any I find.
حَسبيenough for me رِضاهhis approval وأنّيand that I فيfor مسرّتهِhis happiness
وَودّهand his love آخرَthe end of الأيّامthe days أجتهدُI strive
His approval is enough for me, and for his happiness
And his love I strive to the end of days.
