تَبكيyou weep عَلىfor الرَّهدونِal-Rahdun قَدalready حالَhas intervened دونَهُin the way to him
تَبكي عَلى الرَّهدونِ قَد حالَ دونَهُ
مِنَfrom among القَومِthe people مَحنِيُّbent الشَّراسيفِthe rib tips هِبلَعُa wide-mouthed glutton
مِنَ القَومِ مَحنِيُّ الشَّراسيفِ هِبلَعُ
You weep for al-Rahdun, but the way to him has been barred
He weeps for the lost stream, impassable now,
By a bent-ribbed, wide-mouthed glutton from among the people.
As the bold swordsman bars the way.
