وَقالوا يالَ أَشجَعَ يَومَ هَيجٍ

وَقالوا يالَ أَشجَعَ يَومَ هَيجٍ

وَوَسطَ الدارِ ضَرباً وَاِحتِمايا

وَوَسطَ الدارِ ضَرباً وَاِحتِمايا

And they cried, “O Ashjaʿ!” on a day of battle,

And amid the dwelling, striking and defending themselves.
