طَلَعنَthey appeared عَلَيناbefore us بَينَbetween مروةِMarwa وَالصَفاand Safa
طَلَعنَ عَلَينا بَينَ مروةِ وَالصَفا
يَمُرنَthey pass عَلىacross البَطحاءِthe gravelly plain مورdrifting motion of السَحائِبthe clouds
يَمُرنَ عَلى البَطحاءِ مور السَحائِب
They appeared before us between Marwa and Safa,
They come upon us between Marwa and Safa
Passing across the gravelly plain like drifting clouds.
Passing above the open plain, clouds of mist
وَكِدنَand they nearly لعمرby the life of اللَهِGod يحدِثنthey stir up فتنَةtemptation
وَكِدنَ لعمر اللَهِ يحدِثن فتنَة
لِمَخشَعfor one humbled منfrom خشيَةfear of اللَهِGod تايِبrepentant
لِمَخشَع من خشيَة اللَهِ تايِب
And, by God's life, they nearly stirred temptation
By God, they nearly cause turmoil
In one humbled and repentant through fear of God.
For one whose devotion to God has returned through reverence
