For surely I fear Ibn Muhriz’s young she-camels
For I indeed fear the young she-camels of Ibn Muhriz,
when they race across the waste with the ostriches’ swift stride;
when they stride across the desert with the swift gait of ostriches.

they strike the clan’s stout man with such a fright
They give the tribe’s potbellied man quite a fright,
in broad morning, when they meet him wide awake.
in the forenoon, when they make him urinate though he is awake.
